The 2023–24 season at Delta Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel will begin on October 6 in the evening. Weekly live racing will start at 5:15 p.m. CT until the season ends on February 24.

After opening weekend and through the end of the year, live cards will be held on Wednesdays through Saturdays. In January and February, there will be a number of three-day race weeks, running from Thursday to Saturday. Throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday weeks, there will be a total of six daytime race cards beginning at 12:55.

There are 23 races on the stakes program at Delta Downs, and the total prize money is $2.035 million. Throughout the 21-week season, the track will also launch thrilling weekly promotions in the OTB for fans to take part in.

Starting on October 6, the $100,000 Magnolia and the $100,000 Gold Cup will be the first stakes events. Both races are restricted to Louisiana-bred horses, with the Magnolia featuring mares and fillies 3 years of age and older. 

The most lavish event of the year will take place on Louisiana Premier Night on February 3. The event will feature 10 prizes totaling $895k between the top Louisiana-bred horses. On Louisiana Premier Night, the $150,000 Championship for 4-year-olds and above at 1 1/16 miles will serve as the main event.

The top horsemen from Delta Downs’ previous season are anticipated to compete for top honors once more. Vicente Del Cid, Karl Broberg, and End Zone Athletics, the owner, are favored to run it back. Del Cid will try to win his second straight jockey title, Broberg will try to win his 13th straight trainer title, and End Zone Athletics will try to win its 12th title in the previous 13 years.
